Video Game Censorship in Grand Theft Auto 5 – Removal of Torture and Sex Scenes

The Japanese version of GTA 5 has a lot of censored graphics compared to the USA version. The Digital Spy report, which was published on the 27th October, stated that Rockstar Games will be deleting torture and sex game scenes for the Far East version of the Grand Theft Auto 5. The report shows a player torturing a non playable character violently during interrogation. As a result, Rockstar Games is going to remove all inhuman actions in the game such as electrocution, plucking out the teeth and etc. Besides, there are a lot of sexual scenes in the game. The strip club in the game has naked prostitutes that show their breasts. There is also reportedly a cult formed of males who are completely naked. The game does not show the sex scenes straightforwardly. However, these sexual actions can encourage the players to perform masturbation. The PS3 and Xbox 360 version of the Grand Theft Auto 5 were released on the 10th October in Japan. The Computer Entertaiment Rating Organization gave the game a Z rating even after Rockstar has removed the violent and sexual scenes in the game. The Z rating means that the game is suitable for players who are at least 18 years old. GTA 5 generator was released one month earlier in the USA and other countries compared to the Japanese version.
